Quote without calling the yard.

Quote in the field in minutes. Allocate the exact pieces that will ship, and their true cost comes with them. The margin you see is the margin you'll get.

The problem

Margin leaks between the quote and the invoice

Costs move, material gets swapped, and the order passes through four sets of hands. Without one record, margin leaks before anyone sees it.

01
The margin you quote is a guess

You quote off last month's average, then material gets swapped, freight lands late, and processing runs long. No one ever sees the margin the order actually earned.

02
You promise material you can't ship

The spreadsheet says it's in stock. It doesn't say half of it is committed to another order or waiting on production.

03
Orders stall between handoffs

Sales books it, the yard picks it, shipping moves it. A hold doesn't get released or a partial goes untracked, and the order stops moving with nobody owning why.

04
What shipped isn't what gets billed

What left the yard gets retyped into the invoice days later: quantities from memory, prices from the quote. Some of it is wrong, and the customer finds it before you do.

This is what Fion fixes, from the quote to the cash.

Quotes

Quote it in the field, convert it in one click.

A quote takes minutes, at the counter or from the truck. Processing services sell right alongside the material, on the same order. When the customer says yes, convert it to a sales order and the lines carry straight over. No retyping, and no drift between what was quoted and what was ordered.

  • Built in minutes, not back at the desk
  • Customer PO and job number captured up front
  • One-click convert to a sales order

Allocation

Commit the exact pieces you'll ship.

Allocation pulls from real stock, filtered to the line's spec and showing what's actually available to promise, not just what's on hand. Pick the pieces and their true cost comes with them. The margin on the order stops being an estimate.

  • Pick from stock filtered to the line's exact spec
  • Available-to-promise, not just on-hand
  • True cost attaches with every piece picked

Fulfillment

Ready to ship means on the truck.

Mark the allocated pieces ready to ship and they land in the shipping queue for that customer. Build the shipment from the queue, send it by customer pickup or freight, and complete it with a signed BOL. Every stage shows on the order, so when a customer calls asking where it is, anyone can answer. Flag the line to bill on shipment and billing starts the moment the truck leaves.

  • Ready-to-ship feeds the shipping queue
  • Your truck or theirs, one shipment record
  • Bill on shipment queues the invoice automatically

Billing

The invoice is ready when the steel is.

Everything marked ready to bill collects in the invoice queue by customer. The invoice builds straight from the queue, quantities from what shipped and prices from the order, with the customer's terms and tax status already on it. Credit memos and returns run on the same record, and revenue stops waiting on a phone call.

  • One invoice queue, by customer and bill-to
  • Terms and tax status from the customer record
  • Credit memos and returns on the same record

Common questions about sales in Fion

Can we quote away from the desk?

Yes. A quote takes minutes at the counter or from the truck, and when the customer says yes, it converts to a sales order in one click with the lines carried over.

How does Fion calculate margin?

From the exact pieces allocated to the order. Each piece carries its actual cost, purchase, freight, and processing included, so the margin you see at allocation is the margin you'll get, not an average.

Can we sell processing along with the material?

Yes. Processing services sell right alongside the material on the same quote and order.

What does bill on shipment do?

Flag the line and the moment the truck leaves, the material flips to ready to bill and lands in the invoice queue. Billing starts without anyone chasing a confirmation.

Is Fion a CRM?

No. Fion runs the order once it's real: the quote, the allocation, the shipment, and the invoice, all on one record.
